Sharp History
The Sharp Corporation was founded in 1912 by Tokuji Hayakawa and takes its name from one of our founder's first invention, the Ever-Sharp Propelling Pencil, which was developed in 1915. Today, Sharp is a worldwide developer of core technologies that play an integral role in the development of digital technologies such as optoelectronics, infrared, semiconductors, digital MFD's, LCD display panels, and solar technology, and is transforming into a People-oriented IoT Company.
